Yellow and Red                               music & lyric Chris James '86

Riding on a bicycle

Through fields of corn and rice

Sniffing up the fragrance of oriental spice

I’m at the end of my journey
The end of an era

But at the start of a brand new life

Four months I have traveled

This country high and low

Six days down the Yangtze river

Shanghai and then Guangzhou

Now the end is nearing
My journey fulfilled

It's time to say farewell

Well they are yellow and they’re red

Yes they are yellow and they’re red

No more should be said

Cause they’re not like us

And we’re not like them

And they don’t have to be us

And we don’t have to be them

I suppose I was frustrated
I guess I felt let down
Being just a number
Someone in the crowd
Now there's some time for reflection
On all that I have seen
It's the end of a dream

Well they are yellow and they’re red

Yes they are yellow and they’re red

No more should be said

Cause they’re not like us

And we’re not like them

And they don’t have to be us

And we don’t have to be them
