The Dawning Of A Song    Music & Lyrics by Chris James 2009

Long ago I wrote my songs
I'd pick up my guitar
Soiltary locked up in my room
With emotions not too far
The notes arrive and lyrics soon appear
Scribbling down some lines I'm lost but have no fear
It's the dawning of a song

But then my life got busy
I started a career
Spending all my precious time
Working year after year
I didn't even notice that they were gone
Those high's, those low's
Some fast, some slow, some strong
But the songs were gone

Now it's ten years on this morning
And early I did rise
To hear the sound of birds twittering
About there little lives
So I took a pad and soon began to rhyme
The creation of a song
And yes, it's mine
The dawning of a song
